This Time for Africa!

Shakira Shakira!
Time for Africa,” a collaboration between global superstar Shakira and critically acclaimed South African music group Freshlyground, has been chosen as the Official Anthem of the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The song is an adaptation of a traditional soldiers' song named "Zangalewa".

Shakira's "Time for Africa" or "Waka Waka" is very upbeat and positive, and I like it! Shakira mixes languages beautifully.

Although most Kenyans will be supporting Brazil in this year's FIFA World Cup, Shakira is right, it's time for Africa! The continent now has huge potential. Africa, usually the poorest performing region in the world economy, is now likely to be among the best-performing. The private sector is the key driver and financial markets are opening up. Terms of trade have improved and growth is taking off.

Shakira is also involved in charity activities related to children's social justice. A beautiful voice, a good heart, and a great body, I love it!

So check out Shakira's "Waka Waka" for this year's FIFA World Cup and tell us what you think. It certainly got me moving! It also confirms that Shakira still has what it takes to prove to us that her hips don’t lie...

Shakira
You’re a good soldier
Choosing your battles
Pick yourself up
And dust yourself off
Get back in the saddle
You’re on the front line
Everyone’s watching
You know it’s serious
We’re getting closer
This isn’t over
The pressure’s on; you feel it
But you got it all; believe it
When you fall, get up, oh oh
And if you fall, get up, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
Cause this is Africa
Tsamina mina eh eh
Waka waka eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa
Listen to your god; this is our motto
Your time to shine
Don’t wait in line
Y vamos por todo
People are raising their expectations
Shakira
Go on and feel it
This is your moment
No hesitation
Today’s your day
I feel it
You paved the way,
Believe it
If you get down
Get up oh, oh
When you get down,
Get up eh, eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa
Tsamina mina eh eh
Waka waka eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
Anawa aa
Tsamina mina eh eh
Waka waka eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa

Video is a mix-up of clips, from La Tortura to clips of soccer news but the song, is pretty good.

Those hips & thighs don't lie!

She has a great sultry come hither voice too... A very pretty face & nice figure don't hurt either...

Lets not forget the original song by Zangalewa, the Cameroonian band. The message behind this song is poignant.

With all due respect to Shakira's hips, I think that song should have been done by an African group. They could have paid Shakira to dance though. The hips don't lie.

@coldtusker I don't like her voice at all. It reminds me of a goat. She doesn't sing like a goat (goats can't sing), just reminds me of one
