Rest in Peace, King of Pop

Michael Jackson, the exceptionally talented "King of Pop", died Thursday at the age of 50.

He was the most influential and interesting singer and performer of his generation.

Some early reactions to his death include the following:
"I can't stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever!
My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless."
Madonna
"I can't find the words right now to express how deeply saddened I am by Michael's passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only Pop music, but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones."
Justin Timberlake
And some questions going through my mind right now:
  • Which ones of Michael's songs are going to hit the charts now? I think the best would be 'Ben', followed by 'Beat it'.
  • What will happen to the 100 Maasai warriors who were supposed to perform during his London concerts?
  • Who will perform at his funeral? My guess would be Lionel Richie. What about Paul McCartney and Madonna?

Nice post! Dont know about Q1 and 2 but as for Q3,I sure do hope that Steve Wonder performs. That being said, I feel like this is a celebration. MJ has left us with music that will transcend generations and genres.
I guess that's what icons do.
RIP Michael Jackson.

@ misterNV: I agree with you on Stevie Wonder. If he performs, I would like to be there. Have never seen Stevie Wonder live, so maybe I need to do so before another icon leaves us for better places.

@ Our Kid: And may Allah be with Michael always.
