It's Our Turn to Read

I got my copy today of the book "It's Our Turn to Eat" by Michela Wrong. Shipping from the UK to Kenya seems to work fine. I'm off reading now, but if you are still waiting for your copy of the book, you could already have a look at the very nice overview of articles and extracts of the book by Stephanie (Inari Media) here in the meantime. See you later.

Last weekend someone told me wait, ordered me to buy this book off Amazon as soon as possible and I did.He said if I read two books this year, this was one of them and the other is DEAD AID by Dr.Dambisa Moyo .
(this one the lady has besicallt turned Bono's LIVE AID on it's head).

@ 3TOC: When I bought "It's Our Turn to Eat" on Amazon, Amazon immediately also recommended me "Dead Aid". I didn't buy at that stage because of the somewhat mixed reviews, but this week a friend was also telling me that "Dead Aid" is a gem of a book.

Still have to finish "It's Our Turn to Eat" though. Did you find time to read it?

Unfortunately I couldn't read the overview of the book, but I will try and get it see what it's about. As for Dead Aid, I have a blogpost on it coming soon. Moyo is right on spot about Aid to Africa.

On that, I would recommend Paul Collier's Bottom Billion...lots of insight about what we as "developping countries" keep doing wrong

@ Cee: What do you mean you couldn't get the overview of the book? Just follow the links and you will get something.
Looking forward to seeing your post on Dead Aid. Bottom Billion is also already on my "to read" list.

I clicked on the link, I can't "look inside" the book. Have u tried this site? http://www.betterworldbooks.com/ sells books really cheap, and the shipping charges are quite low. I found it as I was looking for that new book

@ Cee: Amazon doesn't have the "Look Inside" feature on all books: not on "It's Our Turn to Eat" for example, but it is there on "Dead Aid".

Thanks, will try out the site you suggested. Shipping is really cheap there!
